Men's Shoes

How to Choose the Right Men’s Shoes

Among a number of groundless stereotypes existing in this world there is one, that concerns shoes, and in particular – shoes and sexes. This ludicrous and insulting stereotype suggests, that all women care about their shoes – and that all men never do.

Quite on the contrary, now one can easily find guys, that have huge shoes wardrobes and who try to match shoes and clothes (besides, there still are women, that con not even articulate, which trend is in in shoes fashion this season!)

If we forget about gender gap, we’ll see, that some of us see shoes as practical necessities, and others have a shoe obsession. However, the majority of people all over the world’ probably, match the middle of the scale. Despite this, many men feel quite uncomfortable when facing a variety of styles in men’s shoes. Some of them get used to one type of shoes (for example, work-type boots) and remain in this style forever. Others even avoid certain clothes, or attending events because sneakers were not appropriate there.

Mainly this happens not due to the disdain for other types of shoes, but to a lack of confidence when it comes to choosing casual shoes. That is why we are happy to present you General Rules for Men’s Shoes, that will help you to avoid problems when choosing between types of shoes.

- Choose shoes that match your pants or are a tone darker, than they.

- Remember, that shoes do not need to be a match with your socks. Socks function as a tie – this is a small item, that bring the whole image together.

- Try to match your shoes to your belt, if you are wearing one (of course, this is not a good idea, if you wear a multy-coloured striped belt or something like that).

- Speaking about jeans, you can wear the shoes of almost every style or colour, but be sure, the shoes are not to shiny – that they do not look like they were mend fro a more classical suit.

- Boots, lug soles, sneakers, loafers and sandals look gorgeous with jeans, but for you not to loose your head in this vortex of choice, make your choice oriented at your shirt. If you are wearing a sporty polo-shirt, loafers will look great, for T-shirs choose sneakers or retro-style shoes. Long, artsy button-downs work well with sandals or moc toe oxford styles.

- As one of the critics said, “whether you call them Dockers, chinos, or khakis, there are a variety of loafers, oxford and other men’s shoes that work well with casual pants.”

- The ornamentation and style of your shoes must lead your image. For example, a tassle or a buckle is a little more on the dressy side, while a woven pattern or heavy stitching is a little more on the casual side.

- If you choose shoes for dress pants, wear a pair you would like to wear with a suit. Shiny material shows, the shoes are quite dressy, as well as bulky heels and soles.

- There are also special rules of colour matching of your shoes with other clothes. For example:

Black shoes will do with navy, grey or black tones.

Brown shoes pass to tan, brown, beige, greens, other darker earth colours.

Burgundy shoes work well with khaki, lighter browns, blue and grey.

Tan shoes will look good with lighter earth colours, as well as blue, beige, lighter tan or white.
